The Federation of Indian Plywood & Panel Industry (FIPPI) has always been an institution built for the industry and by the industry. With a diverse membership comprising manufacturers of all scales and regional associations from across the country, FIPPI serves as a unifying platform where voices converge, challenges are collectively addressed, and shared priorities are advanced.
Through continuous engagement—seminars, stakeholder consultations, trade meets, technical sessions—FIPPI ensures that its members remain informed, connected, and empowered. The Federation functions as a central forum where both legacy enterprises and emerging manufacturers find representation, support, and a collective voice.
Strong membership engagement has reinforced FIPPI’s ability to effectively represent industry interests in national policy discussions and global trade platforms.
Key initiatives undertaken to strengthen membership participation include:
FIPPI actively participates in major national exhibitions and trade fairs to enhance industry outreach, visibility, and engagement. Participation in platforms such as MATECIA and INDIA WOOD 2025 has enabled FIPPI to highlight the sustainability, innovation, and economic importance of wood-based panel products, while reinforcing the role of agroforestry in supporting farmers and rural livelihoods.
Held from 21–23 February 2025 in Bengaluru, MATECIA reaffirmed its position as a premier trade exhibition for materials, architecture, and interior design, with strong participation from southern states including Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Goa.
The exhibition witnessed over 20,500 visitors, including dealers, distributors, architects, interior designers, builders, and manufacturers, fostering extensive networking and business collaboration. FIPPI actively participated in the exhibition and contributed to technical sessions, including:
“Adoption of QCO by the Wood Panel Industry in 2025: QCO Preparedness & Way Forward”
The session featured panelists from FIPPI, scientists from the Institute of Wood Science & Technology (IWST), and industry stakeholders, facilitating informed dialogue on regulatory preparedness and quality compliance.
INDIA WOOD 2025, held from 6–9 March 2025 at Greater Noida, marked 25 years of excellence in woodworking and furniture manufacturing. As one of Asia’s largest trade fairs, the event highlighted India’s growing stature as a global manufacturing hub, with a strong emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and advanced technologies.
FIPPI’s active participation included the establishment of a dedicated FIPPI Pavilion, which served as a focal point for engaging with industry stakeholders. The Pavilion facilitated dissemination of information on Quality Control Orders (QCOs), BIS certification, standardisation initiatives, skill development, and sustainability practices within the plywood and panel sector.
FIPPI continues to strengthen its communication channels to ensure timely dissemination of information and greater industry connect. The Federation publishes its flagship quarterly magazine, “Indian Wood & Allied Panels”, which serves as an authoritative industry voice covering policy developments, regulatory updates, technical innovations, and sectoral insights.
In parallel, FIPPI has established and actively manages its official digital presence across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, enhancing real-time engagement, outreach, and visibility among industry stakeholders, policymakers, and the wider public.
Looking ahead, FIPPI aims to further deepen member engagement through:
